J.E. Rash is a lecturer, writer and consultant in dialogue, NGO development, conflict resolution and education. His career includes studies in law, religion, and alternative medicine, work in professional theater and media, and the design of educational training programs for inner and outer leadership. Entrepreneur, innovator, and visionary, Mr. Rash has founded and leads four organizations, each with a 40-year record of success.
His flagship organization, Legacy International, (http://www.legacyintl.org), is a U.S.-based international non-governmental organization, dedicated to equipping emerging leaders with the skills to transform their values and vision into sustainable success. Utilizing cutting edge methods for professional development Legacy international focuses on a values-based approach to capacity building, catalytic leadership, network thinking, socially responsible entrepreneurship, diversity training, conflict prevention, and youth and women’s empowerment. Under Mr. Rash’s direction, Legacy international has become a global leader in Helping People to Help Themselves and Others in navigating the challenges of a global society.
Throughout his work, Mr. Rash seeks to build bridges of understanding and to develop practical interfaces among people of diverse backgrounds by emphasizing universal values, social responsibility, mutual respect and tolerance.
In 1987, he received the Friends of the United Nations Environment Program 500 Award for outstanding contributions to the environment. He has presented at the United Nations, the World Bank, the Asian Conference on Religion for Peace; Islamic Unity Conference; University of Colorado’s Golda Meir Center for Political Leadership; and International Symposia on Science and Consciousness in Olympia, Greece and Cancun, Mexico. He has addressed numerous college and academic audiences and served on Ph.D. committees at Virginia Polytechnic Institute (VPI).
Known also as Shaykh Ahmed Abdur Rashid, he is an authorized teacher in five traditional schools of Sufism, offering a unique approach for the contemporary seeker, which he calls: Applied Sufism. Author of more than 40 publications, Shaykh Ahmed Abdur Rashid’s articles and speeches have been translated into Arabic, Turkish, Russian, and Kazakh.
He sees himself as a change agent striving to create a positive Legacy for future generations who will be faced with planetary challenges and opportunities of heretofore unseen magnitude. He often quotes: “you cannot change a community until you change yourself.’ And seeks to encourage people to balance their outer life and goals with a rich and contemplative inner life and practice.
Ira Kaufman, Digital Transformation Strategist, CEO, Social Entrepreneur and Educator. Ira’s 40 years of management experience spans three worlds: business, nonprofit and education. Earning his PhD in Marketing and MA in Sociology under the mentorship of Dr. Philip Kotler at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management, Ira worked with Dr. Kotler to advance early initiatives in social marketing. His company, Entwine Digital, works with midsize and multinationals to design values-based Digital Marketing and Transformation strategies and trains World Class Digital Leaders. His Transformative Management platform provides a values-driven framework for managing continuous change to fuel purposeful impact.
Ira taught digital marketing at the senior executive programs at Kellogg and Virginia Tech. At Lynchburg College School of Business and Economics, he designed the Transformative Leadership Lab and Leadership in the Digital Age. He has a deep commitment to working with Legacy International’s Emerging Leaders Network to develop their skill sets as Catalyzers for a sustainable future. He co-authored Digital Marketing: Integrating Strategy, Tactics with Values (now in 2nd edition) and Strategic Harmony… 21 Solutions to the Shattered World (2018). His blog is Think Catalytic. Outside of his professional life, his true passions are his two children, organic gardening, basketball and meditation.
Ilona van der Hagen
Ilona works internationally as a master coach, (inner) leadership trainer and vision consultant. She strives to inspire those she serves to add sustainable value to their lives and work, while creating new ways of being and acting. Ilona finds it crucial to help facilitate a future world, where we can live in peace and with prosperity for all. GTC’s vision and purpose resonates very deeply with Ilona given her values and family background in a successful entrepreneurial family.
During the past 15 years Ilona has facilitated game-changing social, educational and strategic enterprises. Through coaching she has served entrepreneurs, leaders, visionaries, writers, artists and those in the helping professions. Ilona also designs and facilitate Legacy International’s Inner Leadership training modules.

As the Director of Innovation & Entrepreneurship Jason Scott impacts and shapes the increased innovation and social entrepreneurship activity at Legacy International by developing and delivering programs and resources relevant to their global alumni network. He serves as the primary contact for alumni and other stakeholders, and manages the day-to-day operations of new innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives.
Previously he worked at the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), most recently in the Disaster Services Unit as a Program Officer where he developed and led technical assistance and organizational learning to improve national service program responsiveness in disasters. In previous positions he managed the agency’s tools, training and information via online platforms, oversaw the development and management of online learning communities, and designed and presented workshops at meetings, conferences, national nonprofit events, and online through webinars.
Aissa Azzouzi has held senior roles over the past 30 years as CFO/COO with publicly listed companies in the IT and Professional Services sectors, as well as senior-level strategic & financial consulting roles with two major Consulting firms he has extensive international experience in Europe, North America, North Africa and Asia.
Aissa is a Chartered Accountant and holds MBAs from INSEAD & EMLYON Business School, an MSc in Decision & Control from Paris Dauphine and a Master in Law from Université Lyon 3. He is fluent in French, German & English, and is conversational in Arabic.
Dr. Gomes’ professional career has been focused primarily on the formation, leadership and management of international business strategic alliances and cross cultural business strategies. This assumes a deep understanding of what counts as strategic in an enterprise versus what is only short term tactical in nature.
Dr. Gomes earned a Ph.D. in Public Management and International Relations from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs funded on a NASA Ph.D. fellowship. His early career was in executive management positions with large international companies with senior responsibility for contracts with government leaders, royal family members and large corporations such as ARAMCO in Saudi Arabia and Mitsubishi Corporation in Japan. His executive duties have included extended assignments in France, Greece, China, Malaysia, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Russia, Brazil and Holland.
Included in his work history of more than 30 strategic alliance and joint venture agreements.
Currently, Dr. Gomes manages Gomes & Company, which is a boutique executive consulting firm engaged in a broad range of domestic and international multi-party consulting assignments mostly focused on high tech and finance start-ups, joint ventures planning, action planning workshops, organization problem solving and specialized business plan strategy and development. Dr. Gomes has also taught MBA Master’s degree courses in Start up Management, Technology Commercialization and Strategic Alliance and Joint Venture Practices (Oregon Graduate Institute – now OHSU, State University of New York (SUNY-Stony Brook – Korea Campus) and Maastricht School of Management, Maastricht, Netherlands).
Specializing in developing growth through strategic search, visual content marketing and data integration, Jennifer has spent many years as a Digital Marketer, in a number of industries including Healthcare, ecommerce based companies and as a consultant for niche businesses looking to refine and grow their online presence through engaging content. Jennifer specializes in developing content and search based strategies in an ever changing landscape online landscape of search engine guidelines, evolving technologies and data management.
Jennifer’s digital marketing experience includes the ERP software industry and in healthcare with health information exchange integrations focusing on patient engagement in a landscape with consistent changes in technology, security and regulation.

Gabriella is Senior Lecturer in Marketing Research at Winchester Business School, UK. She joined Winchester Business School from Regents University London, where she developed and managed the MSc Digital Marketing and Analytics Programme.
She worked in online marketing as well as digital marketing consultancy in the past ten years. Her degrees range from specialising in International Relations to Drama and Marketing. Gabriella’s research interests combine her past studies and experience focusing in digital marketing with an emphasis on social media and political marketing.
Dr. Ishrat Ali
Dr. Ali is an Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Henry W. Bloch School of Management. He has a Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship from Darden School of Business at University of Virginia, a Master’s degree in Economics from University of Dhaka and an MBA from University of Virginia.
Dr. Ali brings a global perspective and experience, having taught at universities in both the U.S. and Bangladesh. Prior to starting his academic career, he was an entrepreneur, a manager, a consultant with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and a general manager with Kazi Farms Group in Bangladesh. Ali teaches entrepreneurship courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels. His expertise areas are at the Intersection of Entrepreneurship, Ethics and Strategy, Stakeholder Entrepreneurship & Value Creation.
Snjezana Slabek is a passionate and engaging professional who thrives on empowering people too see exciting new ideas and business opportunities. Snjezana graduated Computer Science and got a Master Degree in using digital technologies in business. She is also a certified international trainer in the field of project and knowledge management and holds an international NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) certificate.
Snjezana is TEDx presenter and guest at conferences and events as a speaker or panelist on knowledge management, digital learning, gamification, lifelong learning.
For her achievements in the area of digital and social learning in 2016 she was among top ten “Movers and Shakers” list for Europe, selected by Training Press Releases (UK). In 2017 Snjezana has been named on “Platinum section” on World’s annual “Movers and Shakers” list, among 100 the most influential people in digital learning, selected by elearningindustry.com.
Tariq Qureshi has a degree in Economics and studied at Harvard Business School. He is a board Member and lead for all content and media activities and the CEO/Founder of MAD Talks. MAD Talks is an integrated digital storytelling platform and media brand for the emerging world. This platform captures stories shaping the future, of leadership & innovation, entrepreneurship and breakthrough thinking, in video and audio digital platforms and packages them for distribution through various digital and traditional channels.
Tariq has held executive leadership roles with top global organisations including; Bloomberg Media, The Times & Sunday Times newspaper, and the Dow Jones Markets as a Regional Director. Tariq’s media and broadcasting experience includes being a keynote motivational speaker, panelist, chairing and moderating global conferences, radio and television.
Tariq has presented keynotes to global and regional summits ( eg KPMG, DP World, Telenor, Harvard Business School – Crossroads, Telenor, Oman Oil, to name a few)• Worked with BBC World, Dubai Eye, Dubai TV & has appeared in international broadcast & print media.
Velimir Srića is professor of management at Zagreb University and a visiting professor at UCLA, with a PhD in IT management and an MBA from Columbia University. He has been a visiting professor at Renmin University in China and various universities in Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, Montenegro, and Dubai. He is also a program director of DELFIN (Developing Effective Leadership for Innovation), a private executive development and consulting firm. He was CEO of Croatian Institute for Informatics, Minister of Science and a member of the Government of Croatia.
He is a member of The Club of Rome and an honorary member of the Croatian Helsinki Committee. He is a Fulbright scholar and Eisenhower Fellow and was elected President of Zagreb’s city assembly. Also, he is a World Bank expert on Change Management and a member of The European Academy of Science and Art.
As a consultant, he worked with many regional companies, including Coca Cola, Fina, Gorenje, dm, Uljanik, INA, PBZ and Krka. He is a coauthor of the International Encyclopedia of Business and Management and has published more than 70 professional books and 500 articles. Other publications include a collection of poetry (Various games), strategic monograph “Croatia 2020,” a collection of political essays (From Crisis to Vision), picture book (The Small Globe’s Big Journey) and a novel (Private investigations). Velimir is married to Ana, father to a daughter Lana and has three sons Dario, Davor, and Luka.
Khaled is an expert in community development and an educator in sustainable environmental education. Khaled works with NGO’s, governmental agencies, and consulting firms across the globe. Khaled holds an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering as well as a Master’s Degree from Virginia Tech in Forestry and a PhD in Environmental Design and Planning.
Khaled is a member of the Board of Directors for Legacy International. His role extends into directed training with Legislative Fellows from Egypt, Morocco, Kuwait, and Oman. Khaled has also designed and led action planning sessions guiding the fellows’ future plans in their countries while playing a key role in delivering cultural training for the fellows while debriefing their experience in the United States.
Joseph Turek is professor of Economics at Lynchburg College in Virginia and a member of the faculty of the doctoral program in Leadership Studies. Dean of the School of Business and Economics from 2007-2017, he holds a Ph.D. in Economics from SUNY Albany and an M.P.A. from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University.
Founder of the Center for the Study of Shared Values and co-founder of the Institute for Transformative Leadership, he was visiting professor at the Fachhochschule Vorarlberg in Dornbirn, Austria, from 2011 to 2014. His latest book is an edited volume of readings entitled Income Inequality and Social Stratification: Causes and Consequences.
Craig Phillips is a user experience designer, strategist, and writer based in Dublin, Ireland. His work focuses on digital product design and user centered research practices. He has worked with a variety of companies and clients over his career, from nascent startups to global brands like National Geographic. Craig is particularly concerned with the ethical ramifications of design and technology, and the need to align strategy with values and realizing human potential.
Amita N. Vyas is an Associate Professor and Director of the Maternal and Child Health Program in the Department of Prevention and Community Health, at The George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services.
At the age of 20, Professor Vyas journeyed to Calcutta to work alongside Mother Teresa in the Missionaries of Charity. In one eye-opening summer, she saw what the social determinants of health and well-being really mean to vulnerable populations, and from that extraordinary experience decided to pursue a career in public health. Today, her work focuses on reproductive health care, adolescent health, and the health and development of immigrant children and adolescents. She is also an expert in multi-level research methods and evaluation.
Dr. Vyas continues to hold an adjunct position in the Department of Population and Family Health Sciences at Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health. She was previously on the research faculty of that institution’s Center for Adolescent Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, where she earned its Kann-Trowbridge Award for outstanding research in the area of population and family health. Dr. Vyas’s commitment to teaching was recognized recently as she received the Morton A. Bender Teaching Award from the George Washington University.
